Kindle Tour

Alright, ladies and gentlemen. It’s time to figuratively tour my Kindle. I’m going to be talking about cases, eARCs, and the actual content on my Kindle, (I know, shocker right?) so if you’re willing to endure my rambles, read on!

First off, I’ll start with the basics. I own a Kindle Paperwhite, the version WITH the ads. For an additional $20, you can choose to purchase the Kindle without any “special offers”. Honestly, I don’t find the ads to be prominent enough for me to want to spend extra money, but that’s just all personal opinion. I got my case off of Amazon. It’s a MoKo cover, and I have mine in the hot pink cover. The cover is decent. The Auto Sleep/Wake feature doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it’s honestly not a big deal to me. I’ve dropped my Kindle more times then I really care to admit, and this case has absorbed the blow each time, so that works for me. I also think this case is affordable, considering cases can really get up there in price.

Now for the actual content on my Kindle. This is where things get a bit random. I’m a member of NetGalley, so I receive eARCs from time to time. Once I’ve read and reviewed them, most of the time, I’ll delete the document, knowing that if I liked it, I’ll simply purchase a hard copy when it is published. The only time I will keep the eARC copy on my Kindle is if I TRULY enjoyed what I read, and I think I may actually re-read the book again before it’s published. You’ll see that I currently have two of these copies on my Kindle currently.

Another big thing I use for Kindle for is borrowing from the library. I’m blessed to be a member of a library that has a digital program. It’s simple. I log on to the digital site, type in my library card number, and choose which titles I want to check out. Just like with physical copies, sometimes I have to put a hold on a title and wait. I really like being able to recommend titles for purchase with just a click of a button also.

Unless a title is marked as an eARC, I did purchase all of these with my own money. Everything that is marked with an asterisk (*) is a title that I also own a physical copy of. In order of appearance (my series are mostly separated, due to my sporadic reading), here’s what I have on my Kindle:

Alright, that’s everything that I have on my Kindle. My physical collection is basically eight times larger than my digital one for a few different reasons, mainly because I rarely buy eBooks, unless they’re on sale for REALLY cheap. Do you have a Kindle? Have you been thinking about getting one? Let me know in the comments. As always, if you like what you’re reading, go ahead and subscribe so you don’t miss any of my new posts!
