Playlist: Haven by Mary Lindsey

Hey everyone!

Wow, the universe *really* didn’t want this post to go up. This is my fourth (?) time typing this up, but I’m bound and determined to get this post published once and for all. I’m here today with another playlist, and this time it’s for Haven by Mary Lindsey, a book that I reviewed about a month back. This is a playlist I’ve been toying around with for a while, but I want to get it out into the world. Once again, my playlists almost never follow a certain aesthetic, so genre-wise, they’re all over the place. These are some of my favorite posts to do, as I love music just as much as I love reading. If you like this post and want to check out some of the other playlists I’ve published, I’ve shared one for The Becoming of Noah Shaw, The Infernal Devices Series, and the Shatter Me Series. Now, I will say that this playlist might be a wee bit spoilery about very general plot points, so if you don’t want to know anything at all about this book before reading, I’d avoid it. I think I’ve rambled enough, so let’s jump into the music.

Playlist: The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin

Hey everyone!

My wifi seems to be finally back, so I can finally get this post written up. Some of you may know that I love music just as much as I love books. As a result, I make playlists for certain books, series, and characters from time to time. I’ve shared my playlists for the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare and the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi on this blog before. I recently finished The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin, and I felt like this world needed a bit of a soundtrack. The inspiration for this playlist was The Becoming of Noah Shaw, but different elements of the Mara Dyer trilogy snuck into a few of the songs. My music taste is a bit all over the place, so my playlists never really have a solid genre or really much of a coherent theme, so there’s usually something for everyone. Like in my past posts, I’ll share some of my favorite lyric, and also link to Youtube so you can listen for yourself. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Playlist: Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi

After the seriously awesome news about Tahereh Mafi continuing the Shatter Me series broke, I was immediately launched back into that world. I’ve actually been rereading the series in it’s entirety. While I was rereading, I got the idea to make a playlist to celebrate. Since the last playlist I made went over pretty well, I figured I would share this one also. The idea started off as a playlist encompassing the entire series as a whole, but the more I thought about it, almost all of my songs were more or less screaming WARNER WARNER WARNER sooooo… Whoops.  Think of it as a Shatter Me series with a rather… intense focus on Warner’s character. Musically, it’s all over the board, with a few artists appearing more than once. However, in my opinion, it works.

A Very Feels Filled Playlist: The Infernal Devices

Recently, I’ve been rereading The Infernal Devices for the millionth time. I’ve been going through with flags, marking each and every one of my favorite moments, so I can share them with my mom, who will be borrowing the series soon.

(We’ve been watching Shadowhunters on TV, and she wants to read TMI and TID)

Reliving this series again has brought back so many feelings and emotions (SO. MANY.). Some of you may know that I honestly suck with expressing emotion with words, so I’ll oftentimes assign different songs to different feelings or events. I do the same with books and characters. Since I’ve been mostly rereading TID, I don’t really have any new reviews to share, so I thought it’d be fun to share a bit of my playlist for TID. I’ve poured through this list, editing and tweaking it multiple times, trying to get it perfect. Buuuuuutttt… TID gives me so many feelings that it’s a bit difficult to contain that into a playlist. Some of the songs I’ve included might contain some vague thematic spoilers, so tread carefully. I’ll mark some of my favorites with an asterisk (*).
