Unboxing: Book Mail from Entangled Teen

Hey everyone!

On Saturday, I came back from picking out pumpkins with my family to find a package had been delivered while I was away. I wasn’t expecting anything, nor was my husband, so we had a mystery package on our hands. This mystery package turned out to be a surprise from the lovely folks at Entangled Teen, promoting the upcoming release of Haven by Mary Lindsey. I figured that I would share the contents of the package with you all, and also tell you a little bit about Haven.

First off, Haven by Mary Lindsey is a YA Paranormal novel releasing on November 7, 2017 through Entangled Teen Publishing. Here’s the synopsis and gorgeous cover for you to feast your eyes upon:

“We all hold a beast inside. The only difference is what form it takes when freed.”

Rain Ryland has never belonged anywhere, He’s used to people judging him for his rough background, his intimidating size, and now, his orphan status. He’s always been on the outside, looking in, and he’s fine with that. Until he moves to New Wurzburg and meets Friederike Burkhart.

Freddie isn’t like normal teen girls, though. And someone wants her dead for it. Freddie warns he’d better stay far away if he wants to stay alive, but Rain’s never been good at running from trouble. For the first time, Rain has something worth fighting for, worth living for. Worth dying for.

Sounds great, right? I had actually just requested Haven on NetGalley a few days back, so when I received this package, I squealed a bit. And now for the contents of the package itself..

They sent me a finished copy of Haven, which is totally gorgeous and will look absolutely wonderful on my shelves, along with a few other goodies. I love the “I’m a Book Nerd” print, and will be hanging it up in my reading room ASAP. Also I bring my own totes when grocery shopping, so that Haven tote will come in handy. I took some close ups of some of the smaller items.

One of my favorite items was this handmade wolf charm book mark. I can’t ever have enough bookmarks, and this one is beautiful. Just look at it, it’s adorable.

Also included was a satchel of lavender (which smells AMAZING) and some stickers (which are now on my laptop).

And finally, Entangled included a Haven theme mug, which made me actually scream squeal and scare the hell out of my husband. I have a mug addiction, and it is being fed.

They also included some chocolates, but uh… I ate them. You can actually see one of the chocolates in the first picture, but my self control failed me and I ate it before I even finished taking pictures of everything. I am shameless.

I just want to say a huge, huge thank you to Entangled Teen for sending this package my way. Be on the lookout for a review of Haven in the coming weeks!

    1. This was my first time ever getting something from entangled so I was so shocked I somehow got on the list for this that I turned to my husband and was like “wait how the hell did they get our address” lmao

Then I remembered I had sent in a form or something a looooooooong while back when I moved updating my address just in case, but ya know. My shocked brain decided to focus on that.

      1. Well unexpected book mail is always the best!!

I’m still kind of new when it comes to reviewing books, so I’m just using Netgalley right now and requesting through there. I also sign up for a lot giveways on goodreads and shelf awareness and that’s how I’ve gotten a few physical arcs. But I’m still lost on how to get actual books/arcs from publishers haha.

      2. Some publishers have actual forms to fill out. I think Penguin does. I remember filling out a form for Harlequin too, but I think that was author specific. Entangled must have a form, or had a form once upon a time, because they had sent me a copy of it to update my mailing info. Other than that you have to find contact info for publishers and email them directly, which still intimidates the crap out of me so I don’t do it often. I’ve also gotten ARCs through authors themselves rather than publishers. It’s a bit of a mixed bag lol. I never win goodreads giveaways. Like.. I think I won one once and I’ve entered so many since then.

      3. Thanks! Yeah that’s what I know too. I’ve contacted some authors before and they would direct me to their publishers. I’m still trying to work on my blogging/reviewing skills cause I definitely get intimated too.

I’ve won a few times on goodreads, maybe like 4-5. I have better luck with Shelf-Awereness newsletter and one time won like 4 or 5 in a month. Not sure if the giveaway just all ended at the same time or whatever, but that was a nice surprise. But for the most part, I just wait for Los Angeles Festival of Books and Yallwest to get my ARCs haha. I have my mom go with me and my boyfriend so they can help grab them from different booths. I should probably introduce myself to the publicists working there, but I’m way too shy haha.
